Week Two

Week Two- Prototype

I have also created a prototype and presented it along with my animation pitch in order to show an illustration of how the animation may look like. Ihave included a welcome screen, which says 'WELCOME TO THE SCIENCE LAB RULES'. I have also inlcluded a character in order to represent St. Anne's school but also because I decided to include a voice-over in my prototype in this way the character also has a voice.

- Initially, I had created a character to include in my prototype, I have used Adobe Fireworks in order to create my character. I've used different types of tools as well as appopritate colours that matches the school's colour scheme.
- I then created this prototype using Adobe Flash. I had to include different frames and layouts for my character, my voice-over, my title, and the science lab table.
- As you can see from the title, I also decided to include an effect, which is called a morphing effect; this is a transition effect which gradually becomes/transforms into something else.

Week Four

Week Four- Meeting with Mr. Treanor

The meeting was held on Friday 11th of March 2016 in room S1 from 9:20 am till 10:32 am. We have prepared and reharsed as a whole class for the meeting. We all had individual roles, however we all had to make sure we had our Animation Pitch, which is the PowerPoint and the Prototype, which is an example of an interactive animation for the science lab rules. I was responsible for the cameras, as well as my peer Jaliza; we had to make sure that the cameras were fully charged and as to whether they were working or not. We needed two cameras for the meeting, one for the video; Jaliza was responsible in recording individual people during their presentation whilst I had to take pictures of people presenting their animation. As well as this I also had to borrow a tripod from the Art Departement, however I had to consider this a week before the meeting and this was done so that we were fully certain that the tripod could have been available on the day of the meeting.

On the day of the meeting, as a whole class we started setting-up the room at around 8:40 am. As a class we decided as to where the tripod should go in order to record the videos efficiently. We also had to make sure that the Prototypes were working on the device, so we had the technician in the room so that if we had faced any technial problems he was then available to help.

The meeting started at 9:20 am; as soon as Mr. Treanor came in the room we invited him to sit on the chair, which was allocated in the room, in order for him to see the screen clearly. In register order, we started presenting our animations one by one.  I also presented my animation pitch to Mr. Treanor where I have explained in as much detail as possible what the animation was about and also by explaining the process of the creation of this product; and as you can see, here I have a video and picutes in order to show evidence of my presentation. Ms. Duarte has evaluated my presentation and has given me feedback on things to improve for next time and what went well.... At the end of my animation I ask Mr. Treanor as to whether he had any questions and he says no, as I’ve inlcuded a lot of information.

After everyone presented their animation pitch, we then sat around a table and we started asking questions to Mr. Treanor one by one, we asked him questions regarding the animation as well as the science lab rules. At the same time we were writing what Mr. Treanor was saying in order to use it as evidence of our communication with our client and to record the answers down.

Week Three

Week Three- Communications Log

The communication log is a documentation which will include the communications to the client and other stakeholders in regards to meeting that will be held in school or outside of school. I will be including information about the meeting such as the time and date, the location and how the meeting went. It is important to record down this information as I’m showing evidence of this process.

Meeting 1: Mr. Treanor

This is a screenshot from the email we sent on the behalf of the whole class to Mr. Treanor. We will be holding a meeting with Mr. Treanor in order to show what we have prepared so far and what the animation is about. As you can see we have summarised the aim of our animation by saying that our animation is aimed at the KS3 students in regards to the science lab rules. We then talk about the date and time for the meeting, and this is important as we have to know whether he may be available on that specific date and time, in this way it will allow us to organize the meeting efficiently and If any inconvenience we have the time to find a solution by asking another staff member if he/she may be available to attend. We have also included the location in this way our client will specifically know as to where the meeting will be held.

Response by Mr. Treanor

This is Mr. Treanor’s response, where he accepts to come to the meeting with the proposed date and time.

Our Response

This is our response to Mr. Treanor thanking him for the reply and including a save the date for the meeting.

Week One

UNIT 2- ANIMATION PITCH

Week One

We started a new assignment in our creative media production which was to create an animation pitch in order to present it to our client Mr. Treanor. An animation pitch is simply a way to sell or promote your product to the client or a company. I created a PowerPoint in which I spoke about my animation and gave as much detail and possible. I have included information such as:
-         What is an animation and what type of animation I will use and how-         The aim, which is targeted to KS3 students and the animation will allow them to understand and learn about the science lab rules
-         Who collaborates with me or helps me with this production, in this case my personnel
-         What the animation will include; (characters, images, rules, quizzes, videos)
-         I’ve also included information regarding the science lab rules and what they are.
-         Shown the procedures of creating an animation, with the use of 3 different software (Photoshop, Flash and Fireworks)
-         Deliverable; this is how the animation can be accessed, which can be through Fronter, the internet or a CD Rom.
-         I’ve also included part of my primary research (which was my questionnaire for the KS3 students, in order to obtain some information of their preferred colour, for example, and apply that into my animation)  and secondary research (which was the research on magazines, posters etc. And this a way to look at the layouts of the pages especially the colours and fonts which could match my target audience-teenage students)
-         I then included charts in order to show evidence of the students answers and to evaluate the results.
-         The importance of copyright, what it is and how we applied this to our animation.
